George Schneider established his Bavarian Brewery in 1852.  Seven years later in 1859, Adolphus Busch opened a wholesaler commission house in St Louis and sells brewing supplies.

Then a year later in 1860 Eberhard Anheuser acquired the Bavarian Brewery which, at the time ranked about 29 out of 40 breweries in St Louis in 1860.  Accordingly, the Brewery was renamed: "E. Anheuser & Co."  

Anheuser became one of Adolphus' best customers and naturally enjoying a healthy business relationship the two men soon become good friends.  Adolphus Busch started working at E Anheuser & Co as a salesman in 1884.  On Dec 29 1865 Adolpus's firts son, August A. Busch was born.

The "Budweiser" name was introduced in 1876.  It was/is brewed using the finest ingredients: barley malt rice hops yeast and water.  Lagers use bottom fermenting yeast, whereas ales use top fermenting yeast.  Lagers take longer to ferment and age than ales. About half of the beers sold in the United States are Anheuser Busch product.  In 2002 AB sold over 100 million barrels of beer in the US.

Beer is a food product.  It is a commonly held misconception that age makes the brew taste better.  In fact the fresher it is the better.  A budweiser is said to be guaranteed fresh for 110 days from the "Born on" date on the bottle label or bottom of the can.  Beer should be stored in a cool dark location.  It takes 30 days to brew a Budweiser.  Packaged beer is pasteurised which allows it to be stored without refrigeration.  Beer has been around for at least 12,000 years with basic recipes of the drink we enjoy today brewed by ancient peoples such as the Mesopotamians.

Adolphus Busch chose  the name 'Budweiser' because of its Germanic sound which he thought would appeal to American and German migrants.  This beer is brewed at 12 domestic breweries and 15 locations across the globe.
